An organisation registered under the Dubai Community Development Authority (CDA), has collected 40 tonnes of essential non-food items for Kerala flood victims.
Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre (KMCC) commenced extensive relief activities as soon as the floods had begun to affect Kerala. KMCC president Anwar Naha said that round 20 tonnes of goods worth Dh4 million have already been sent to Kerala. This will benefit 20,000 people across 14 districts ravaged by the natural calamity, he added.
“Dubai KMCC has been able to intervene in this humanitarian crises inspired by the vision and leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. He has displayed as always an exemplary spirit of kindness to help Kerala’s flood victims which is worthy of imitation by other world leaders,” said Naha.
